Helped Ada prepare for the Sunday markets at Lamb, held at the Revolution club space in East London; and LBB, which are alternative fashion fettish wear markets. Errand: Went to Greenwich hobby craft with a sample of ovc to buy the correct pvc, which had to be non stick iridescent plastic.
Errand: Sent necklace for ordered from Etsy, which Ada also uses to sell items such as harnesses, chokers and visors and other commercial accessories. Had to make on time for sale instead of letting a customer down and giving them a refund.
Tasks
-
Pierced pvc colours at 18cm with the Ore
-
Cut Various lengths of PVCfor chokers and cuffs
-
Cut the end by hand so the pvc isn't to hard on the skin, to do this I had to practice a couple of times as this was done free hand.
-
PVC was the main material Ada works with, everything had to be accurate as no seam allowance is used because we didn’t sew the accessories, however if an outfit was commissioned Ada would sew some parts like PVC for example in the Villanelle set.

London trimmings for buckles for bras. 10 Gold and 20 silver £17. Silver buckles go with more PVC colours than the gold buckles as well as the target market being more attracted to the shiny silver buckles. A lot of tasks were repitive as we actually made the products as a production line system.
Measurements for Caged Bras

Finished crystalline mouth pieces
Made drawings of caged bras and harness for future reference before they are sold. Basically a rough technical drawing with measurements.
cut out metres of PVC squares and rectangles for flowers using Sissix machine. PVC squares are put to at a time underneath a template and sandwiched between two thick plastic board. This is threaded through the Sissix machine, pulling it back before it reaches the other side. The flowers are poked though with the ore. Punched holes in flowers at number 2 setting on the hole puncher. All different colours of PVC flowers had to be hole punched in the centre. Accuracy is really important.

Wrote a list of pvc to cut
Dalston, searching for knickers to make new knickers from pvc to match outfits. Villanelle outfits.
Went to Dalston to use the Little Workshop. To use the clipper cutter. Different pressures to use different knives, cut out visors, heart shapes, point moon shape and round moon shape out of cardboard for the peplum and shoulder part of the Villanelle set. Had to leave earlier because to cut the thin shapes out there was not the write board. Waste of money - time is really important. Extra £10 for the next time. New Cruella film coming out - cut shapes to use for cruella outfit like the Villanelle one.
Ada used the ‘knives,’ which were more like cookie cutters at the Little Workshop in Dalston to achieve the most accurate shapes which included, hearts, long rectangular strips at 2cm, 3cm and 5cm. Depending on what kind of board was underneath the press affected the edges of the PVC, if the PVC was rough it had to be snipped and filed back at the studio.

Filed shapes from Tuesday cutting session
If cut lines were not perfectly straight the PVC might only be used to cut flowers for embellishment on the Sissix machine.
Cleaned shapes with wipes and kitchen towel so rivets would not rust and blow dried them to flatten them as it makes the plastic softer
Crystalline caged bra as Ada had to make it smaller by adding more hearts.
Cleaned neckline which a model got foundation on.
Changed over silver San and brown, rings and screws from clear pieces to black pieces as Ada sells some of her products in Maxs shop in Camden. Maxs shop only take black and red garments so to save material I swapped the silvers from other chokers and cuffs to black and straps and replaced them with gold pieces. Used the narrow silver plates for the gold pieces so they weren't as viewable. Used screw driver. Rings.

Made complete red and black cuffs for Maxs shop to go with Valentines day collection. Cut straps to length, Marked and punched holes. Punched one too many holes which we put spikes on instead which actually matched a red choker with spikes. Screwed on San and browns. placket goes on back screw into semi circles so was loose enough to thread through the rings. And then tightened both screws.
Finished at 12.

Finished Crystalling the harness

13/02/2020

Researched all different types of ears to sell at Easter on Etsy and at upcoming events. Researched high fashion head pieces and sculptures as well as basic bunny ears from Pinterest. Watched youtube tutorials on how to make them and drew templates. Discovered the differences between hand made pig ears, dog ears, bunny ears and cat ears. Also found a store competitor that sells harnessed ears.
